Van driver killed by trolley in Fakirhat

A van driver was killed on the spot after being hit by a trolley on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at Fakirhat in Bagerhat. The accident took place at Faltita area of Dhaka-Khulna highway of the upazila around 9 am on Tuesday.
Deceased Azgar Ali Howlader (60) is the son of deceased Mr. Ali Howlader of Nichupara Goata area of Gopalganj Sadar.
Sergeant Kamruzzaman of Mollahat Highway Police Station said that in the morning the van driver Azgar Ali was driving a van from Gopalganj towards Fakirhat. When the van reached Faltita area of Fakirhat Upazila on the Khulna-Dhaka highway, it collided head-on with a trolley coming through the bypass road. The van driver Azgar was seriously injured.
The locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Mollahat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Debbrata Roy said that the trolley has been impounded due to the accident. However, the trolley driver fled after the accident.
