Accidents are increasing due to cow herds on almost every road in Dakop of Khulna, as a result many fresh lives are being lost prematurely. Awami League leader Bidhan Biswas, a resident of Chunkuri Danga Para village of Bajua Union, said accidents are constantly increasing on Channirchak Paschim Para Road, ward 3 of Kamarkhola Union of Dakop Upazila. It is the only brick road for people to travel on rainy days. Thousands of people travel to different places on this road. But some people in the area are using this road as a cow farm. Accidents are increasing due to this. Sajib Roy, a motorcyclist in Bajua, said that the monsoon season has actually killed many people and cows on the roadside, causing many motorists to suffer accidents. He said that while going from Bajua to Poddarganj, there are almost always cows on the road at the West Bajua intersection and Chunkuri where the bridge is located, so you have to drive very carefully while driving. Because cows defecate on the road, it spreads on the road when it rains. And the road is very slippery, as a result of which there are minor and even major accidents. Around the area, the same complaint is found in all unions of Dakop Upazila. When the monsoon season comes, especially in the Aman paddy field, from the time of sowing to harvesting of rice and from the time of watermelon planting to the time of sale, the cattle and goat owners of the area leave their cows and goats during the day. They block the road and keep there all day long and eat hay and grass. In the evening, cows are taken from the road and slaughtered, and in the morning, they are slaughtered on the side of the road. Sagar Chandra Bachar, senior vice-president of Awami League of Loudob Union, said that in my area not only cows are tied on the road, cow dung is also shaken and dried on the road and it is a constant problem to wear while driving. He also said that even if the cow owners are prohibited from blocking the cows on the road, they do not listen. Even after complaining to get rid of it in the budget meeting of the Union Parishad, there is no solution. Which is why anyone hears ban or prohibition. Banishanta Union went around and made the same complaint. Car drivers in the area said that if you prohibit them from tying cows on the road, they say, I will tie cows in front of my house, what about you? What can I say, journalist brother, some of them are the people of the chairman, some are the people of some big leader, so we constantly have to accept death and drive the car and accidents happen. This is how accidents are increasing in Dakop. The local people are quickly drawing the attention of the appropriate authorities to avoid this accident.
