A protest meeting was held against the unlimited irregularities, corruption and recruitment trade of Khair Uddin, headmaster of Velapukur Laxmipur High School in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.

On Sunday at 11:30 am, the residents of the affected area organized this hour-long meeting in front of the school.

Paygam Ali, former president of the school, Liakat Ali, peon of the school, Dipendra Nath Roy, Awami League president of Ward No. 7 of Chilarong Union, Shaheen Quader and other dignitaries of the area spoke in the protest meeting.

The speakers said that the headmaster of Velapukur Lakshipur High School Khair Uddin works according to his own wishes. He does not come to school regularly. Last month, three posts were advertised for recruitment that none of us knew about. We are also not informed about when and how the School Managing Committee meets. He continues to commit massive corruption in the recruitment trade without regard to the rules. We locals want strict action against this corruption.

The speaker also complained that this head teacher took two hundred rupees from the students in the name of distributing free books and those who could not pay were not given books. He took more money from the students even while giving the admit card. He comes to school and leaves school at will.

When talking to the head teacher about this, it is known that he is on vacation and he did not pick up the phone when contacted several times.
