Police arrested three drug dealers with 21 kg of ganja in Ulipur of Kurigram. The arrested accused are Md Masud Mia (22) son of Rustam Ali of Khamar Damarhat area of Bajra Union, Md Shafiqul Islam (34) son of Islam Uddin of Dhanigagla village of Santoshpur Uni in Nageshwari and Hafizur Rahman (35) son of Panir Uddin of Newashi Union.

It is known that on Monday (September 4) afternoon, the Ulipur Thana police received the information about drug smuggling based on secret information. Later SI Moshiur Rahman, ASI Sohag Parvez and Cong Haroon Or Rashid led by SI Atikuzzaman Atiq raided and arrested three drug dealers along with 21 kg ganja and an auto rickshaw used for transporting drugs from Jummahat Bazar area of Gunaigach Union. Among the three drug dealers, Shafiqul Islam has 3 previous drug cases in his name.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ulipur police station Golam Mortuza said on Tuesday (September 5) morning that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the three arrested drug dealers. They have been sent to jail by the learned court.
