In Narayanganj’s upazila Sonargaon, the new office opening ceremony and milad mahfil of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club was held in the presence of journalists and public representatives of Sonargaon.

Sonargaon Esakha Press Club Advisor and Central Organizing Secretary of Awami Jubo Mahila League Nasreen Sultana Jhra was present as the chief guest in this event held on Friday, December 9 afternoon under the chairmanship of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club President Mr. VP Parvez. Chairman of Rural Journalist Foundation (RJF) Mr. SM Zahirul Islam and Forest and Environment Secretary Mr. Rezaul Islam were present as special guests.  Mr. Engineer Masudur Rahman Masum, Vice President of Sonargaon Awami League and Chairman of Pirojpur Union, another advisor of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club, sent greetings on the occasion of the opening of the new office.

Among the journalists of Sonargaon, President of Sonargaon Model Press Club, Jugantar Meghna Representative Md Farooq Hossain, Ananda TV Representative Mazharul Islam, Journalist Samir Sarkar, Fahad, Shahrukh, Moktar, Anis and among the dignitaries of the area Khairul Alam, Harunur Rashid, Saiful Islam, Ali were present.  Haider, Humayun Kabir, Parvez, Khokon and many others.

Sonargaon Esakha Press Club Vice President Md. Delwar Hossain, General Secretary Mr. Abdul Karim, Joint General Secretary Rashedul Islam, Organizing Secretary Jism Uddin Rajib, Finance Secretary Mr. Ulfat Kabir and Executive Member Mr. Shamim were in overall management of the event.

RJF chairman Zahirul Islam said on the occasion that the official registration process of all journalists has been adopted, everyone should be properly trained and come under the official journalist registration. In the speech of the chief guest, Nasreen Sultana Jhra said that all the journalists including the Sonargaon Esakha Press Club are working to build the society by raising the voices of the people of Sonargaon and speaking out against injustice, so that the journalists can be fully engaged in journalism, there should be a suitable employment system for the journalists. She also said that the government led by the current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been giving importance to taking various steps to improve the quality of life of journalists. In the closing speech, president of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club, VP Parvez said that since the beginning of the club, the journalists of this club have been working against various irregularities and for the welfare of people and society, which is recognized throughout Sonargaon. He expressed gratitude to the role of all the journalists of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club and to the visiting guests and requested everyone’s sincere cooperation and advice in all matters of Sonargaon Esakha Press Club.
