National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection, Patuakhali fined 33 thousand rupees in 7 shops for storing expired medicine, Basipcha food, selling at extra price and storing products without expiry date.
On Wednesday (August 30, 2023), the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Patuakhali informed this information.
It has been reported that 2 sweet shops responsible for keeping sweets in a rotten dusty environment in Kalishuri market, 2 grocery shops responsible for keeping prices high, 2 food hotels responsible for keeping rotten food and 1 medicine shop responsible for expiration date were fined 33 thousand rupees. .
Everyone is fined under various sections of the Consumer Protection Act 2009 for violating the Consumer Protection Act.
The campaign was conducted by Shah Md Swaib, Assistant Director, Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection, Patuakhali.
A team of Baufal police station was present during the operation.
