Osman Gani (45), the main accused in the murder case of Abdur Razzak, general secretary and former chairman of Awami League, Ward No. 5 of Kadimchilan Union of Natore’s Lalpur Upazila, was hacked to death.
The police said that he was killed by cutting the veins of his hands and feet. He is said to be the son of deceased Akher Ali of Dangapara Chilan village of Atra Union.
According to local sources, on Sunday (September 3, 2023) around 7:00 a.m. in the old house of Dangapara Chilan village, Jahangir’s tea shop, when he came out to eat tea, due to previous enmity, the rival former member Rezaul Karim (45), son of Noor Bux of Dangapara Chilan village, son of Abdus Sattar. Saiful (25), Afsar’s son Atiq (26), Jewel (27), Muslim’s son Ibrahim (35), Nasu Prang’s son Latif (50), Azbaha’s son Milton (25), Jamat Ali’s son Jewel (30), Mozafar’s son Manjil (32) and Roshan’s son Bablu (42) cut the veins of Osman Gani’s legs and hands with a sledgehammer and beat him with a stick, causing bloody injuries, causing him to bleed to death on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station Ujjal Hossain confirmed the matter.
