Border Guard Bangladesh BGB members arrested 3 smugglers along with 4 gold bars and an alien private car at Benapole Daulatpur border in Jessore.

Its weight is 2 kg 940 grams and the market price is about 2 crore 65 lakh taka.

The arrested are Saidur Rahman Majed son of Mohiuddin of Pirojpur village of Kaliganj police station of Jhinaidah district, Saiful Islam son of Nasir Ali of Bagdanga village of Jessore Sadar and Masud Chowdhury Babu son of Rezaul Chowdhury of Nishchintpur village of Sharsha upazila.

Khulna 21 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanveer Rahman PSC said that the gold bars were recovered from Baropota Bazar area of Daulatpur border around 11:30 am on Wednesday (August 30).

BGB said that a special patrol team of BGB was stationed in Baropota Bazar area of Daulatpur border on secret information of gold smuggling. At that time, 3 suspects in an Alien private car were arrested. Later, four large gold bars were found after searching their bodies.

In this regard, the BGB official said that the gold shipment will be deposited in the Jessore treasury branch by filing a case with the Benapole Port police station in the name of the 3 smugglers arrested.
