There is a thriving drug trade in the name of palm and date palm juice in Jessore.

There is no one to see the hustle and bustle of Jessore’s narcotics trade. There is no way to stop the drug dealers. It is known that Jabbar Biswas alias (Tadi Jabbar) Murad Hossain son of Jabbar, son of late Hossain Ali Biswas of Jam Jami village in Bhojgati Union of Manirampur Upazila, two sons of Azizur Biswas, elder son of deceased Hossain Ali, Iqbal and Billal have become reckless. There are several drug cases in the name of Jabbar Biswas and Azizur Biswas who are out on ongoing bail and are selling fast by using various tricks to evade the attention of the prosecution. The pot is advertised as having date and palm juice. But when the seller approached, Jabbar said – I need to hurry, brother. All these are locally made special drugs. This drug is being sold for Tk 50 to Tk 300 in empty bottles of soft water. From which their daily income is 5 to 10 thousand taka. When the police come, their behavior changes. They tell the police that they have a license for gachi from Jessore Afghani. But that is not true. They have been selling intoxicants mixed with rice fan and water for a long time. They have built illegal wealth by selling drugs. In Kuada Zamzami village, in the evening, various strangers are seen, Jabbar and his son Murad, Azizur Biswas’s son Iqbal, Billal are delivering drugs in different ways. Sometimes on a motorcycle, sometimes on a bicycle, sometimes inside a nursery, their drug trade and consumption is going on. The residents of this incident complain that school going and college going boys are more prone to this deadly drug. The youth of the area is on the way to destruction. Various misdeeds are going on in the area, but the conscious community is unable to stop them in any way. The local residents requested the immediate intervention of the administration after investigating the incident.
