10 houses of Gobindpur housing project damaged by fire in Khanpur union of Manirampur upazila. State Minister for Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives Veermuktijoddha Swapan Bhattacharya MP stands beside the victims. On the ground, he went to the spot to inquire about the victims, when he saw the State Minister Swapan Bhattacharya, the victims burst into tears, and the State Minister assured them that they would be sent home soon. Upazila Awami League president and municipal mayor Kazi Mahmudul Hasan, UP chairman Sirajul Islam, Zilla Parishad member Tasrin Sultana Sova and other local leaders and activists were present.

A student died in a motorcycle collision in Ulashi, Sharsha.

A student named Golam Rabbi Piyas Hussain (15) died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Ulashi in Sharsha, Jessore. The deceased Golam Rabbi Piyas is the son of Majnu Ali of Mirzapur village of Ulashi Union and a class 10 student of Ulashi Varnamala Vidyapeeth School. On Wednesday (March 8) afternoon, Ulashi was returning to his home in Mirzapur village of Sharsha with one other rider on a motorcycle from his father’s business establishment in Bazar. On reaching Kamarbari Mor, there was a head-on collision with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Meanwhile, two motorcycles were twisted. Locals rescued the three injured and sent them to Jessore General Hospital. Golam Rabbi Pius died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Sharsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Akiqul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident. Meanwhile, the death of Pius is going on in the family. A shadow of mourning has descended on the area.
