SP Mahfuzul welcomed the police freedom fighters in Kurigram.

 Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md Mahfuzul Islam welcomed 147 police freedom fighters in Kurigram.

 On Saturday (December 17) at the Police Lines Multipurpose Drillshed, the district police organized a felicitation for the retired police freedom fighters stationed in Kurigram district who were the first armed resistance against the invading forces in the Great War of Liberation.  Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam presided over the event, former District Commander of Muktijodha Sangsad Vir Muktijoddha Md. Sirajul Islam Tuku, former Sadar Upazila Commander Abdul Baten Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md. Ruhul Amin, Additional Superintendent of Police of Ulipur Circle Mohammad  Mohibul Islam, Nageshwari Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Suman Reza, Bhurungamari Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Morshedul Hasan PPM along with senior officers and employees of the district police.

 At the beginning of the program, Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam along with senior officers of the district police welcomed the retired policemen with flowers and wrapped them in shawls for winter warmth.  Superintendent of Police said that police brave freedom fighters are our heroes.  Kurigram District Police has always stood by the police heroic freedom fighters and expressed their motivation and message that no evil force can hinder the development activities of the government in the coming times. Incidentally, the police stationed in Kurigram district are 147 including freedom fighters, family members of deceased freedom fighters, Sadar Thana 11, Rajarhat 16, Ulipur 50, Bhurungamari 14, Kachakata 1, Chilmari 20, Roumari 14, Nageshwari 10, Phulbari 12.  John Veer Freedom Fighters and their family members received police reception.

Hunger strike at lover’s house demanding marriage in Kurigram. Lover absconding.

Girlfriend working in garments is on hunger strike at her boyfriend’s house demanding marriage. She has stayed at her boyfriend Sohel Rana’s house since Friday (December 16) afternoon.  When the news of the arrival of the lover spread in the area, people gathered at the house of lover Sohel Rana to catch a glimpse of the lover. This incident took place in Paschim Phulmati village of Naodanga Union of Phulbari Upazila of Kurigram.  Lover Sohel Rana is the son of deceased Sirajul Islam of that area. Chairman of Naodanga Union Parishad confirmed this. The lover, who is on hunger strike demanding marriage, said that she met her boyfriend Sohel Rana while working in a garment factory in Jamgra area of ​​Dhaka.  Later the lover came to know that her boyfriend Sohel Rana’s house is in the same area.  For 6 months love relationship developed between them.  With the promise of marriage by the lover Sohail, the garment worker’s lover also developed a physical relationship.  Her boyfriend Sohail brought her from Dhaka to his sister’s house next to his house a week ago, saying that he would marry her.  After a few days at his sister’s house, Sohail left his lover at his own house.  Later, when the matter came to the knowledge of the two families, the people of the lover’s house agreed to their marriage, but the family of the lover refused the marriage. Meanwhile, lover Sohail Rana’s mobile phone was switched off and the lover was disappointed.  In this situation, the garment worker started a hunger strike at her lover’s house.  She also said that the lover will continue her hunger strike till her boyfriend Sohel Rana gets married. Locals Siddique Mia and Zakari Mia said that the lover has been on hunger strike at Sohail’s house since Friday afternoon demanding marriage. Meanwhile, Sohail Rana’s comment was not available as he is absconding.  But Sohail’s mother Sufia Begum said that my son did not have a love relationship with that girl. In this regard, Phulbari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Fazlur Rahman said that he came to know about the incident through the village police.  The lover’s family has not filed any complaint with the police yet.  Legal action will be taken if complaints are received.
