Police Have Arrested Three Persons in The Incident of Disappearance of Rice from Warehouse in Bogura, Sariakandi.

Bogura District Magistrate Jannatul Naeem attended the residence constructed by Jubo League leader Shahadat Hossain of Bagber village in Sariakandi of Bogura and sealed 1130 sacks of food-friendly rice in the building. When the news about the disappearance of rice came out, on the afternoon of December 22, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Rezaul Karim led the members of the Upazila Food Control Committee opened the seal and found that 1124 sacks of rice were missing out of the 1130 sacks of rice seized.
Later, when Sariakandi Upazila Food Controller filed a statement as plaintiff, a regular case was filed in Sariakandi Police Station. During the investigation of the case, under the direction of District Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty BPM, Assistant Superintendent of Police Gabtali Circle Niaz Mehdi led by Officer In-Charge (OC) of Sariakandi Police Station Rajesh Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector (Investigation) Ashraful Alam and other officer forces raided various places of the police stationOn Friday, December 30th, the police arrested 3 accused involved in the incident.The arrested are Belal Hossain (35), son of deceased Nuru Pramanik of Bagber village in the municipal area, Rusat (28), son of Tofa Fakir of Andar Bari village, Raihan Kabir (27), son of Sona Mia of Andar Bari village. At this time, 01 truck used for carrying stolen rice, whose Reg. No. Jessore-D-11-0884 was seized.
During the questioning of the arrested accused, they confessed their involvement in the incident and gave confessional statement in the learned court under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Sariyakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rajesh Kumar Chakraborty said that although the names and addresses of the main culprits involved in the rice theft incident were disclosed in the statement of the accused, their names and addresses were not disclosed for the sake of investigatio.
