National VAT Day celebrated in Kurigram.

 Kurigram National VAT Day and VAT Week were celebrated under the theme “VAT Policy for Development, Build Nation with VAT”. Kurigram Customs Excise and VAT Department organized National VAT Day and VAT Week at Nimbagan Divisional Office on Saturday (December 10) at noon.

 Alhaj Panir Uddin Ahmed, Member of Parliament of Kurigram-2 Constituency, spoke as the chief guest in the program under the chairmanship of Kurigram Customs Excise and VAT Department Deputy Commissioner and Divisional Officer Md. Abdul Alim.  Alhaj Abdul Aziz Mia, president of Kurigram Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke as a special guest. M/s Jalil Bidi Factory General Manager Mohsin Sabu, Supervisor Zainal Abedin, Ashraful Haque Milton, Humayun Kabir etc. were present on the occasion. Alhaj Panir Uddin Ahmed, Member of National Parliament of Kurigram-2 Constituency, chief guest at the event said that VAT is the oxygen of development.  With the VAT money, mega projects are being set up across the country including Agricultural University in Kurigram, modern hospital, Chilmari seaport, Sonahat land port and industrial areas.  So he urged everyone to pay VAT voluntarily.

6th class student Deepjol died due to electrocution in Kurigram.

 A teenager named Shamim Hossain Dipjal (12) died due to electrocution in Nageshwari of Kurigram.  He is the son of Ashraful Alam of Ward No.1 Baghdanga Pirbari area of ​​the municipality.

 The accident happened around 12 noon on Saturday.

 Ward Commissioner Ashraful Islam Israel said, Pirbari Dakhil Madrasa’s 6th class student Deepjol.  On Saturday he was setting up an electric motor to lift water from the pond next to the house to irrigate the boro seed bed.  Meanwhile, the electric wire fell on the mud.  While picking it up from there, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.

 Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Nageshwari Police Station Tambirul Islam has confirmed the truth of the incident.
