Fakir Khan (90), a brave freedom fighter of Panichattar village in Monirampur upazila of Jessore, passed away yesterday. In state honor, Monirampur land officer ——_—– and police of Monirampur police station gave state honours, the national flag draped his body. Yes. 5 people, including a father and son, were killed when a covered van ran over them in Jessore’s Manirampur. A tragic road accident took place in Begaritla area of Jessore-Manirampur road on Friday morning at 7:30 am. Officer-in-charge of Manirampur police station Sheikh Md. Moniruzzaman confirmed the incident and visited the incident site. The deceased are Habibur Rahman (40) of Tuniaghara village near Begaritla market, and his school-going son Taoshi (07), Shamchur Rahman (65) of the same village, Tauhidul Islam (28) and Ziaur Rahman (35) of Jaipur village. Eyewitness Shahidul Islam said that among the victims, Shamchur, Touhidul and Ziaur sat on the cots of Nurul Amin’s shop after having breakfast, when a covered van came and pushed them to the hotel. Chairman of Bhojgati Union Parishad (UP) Abdur Razzak said. , the covered van claimed 5 lives. 8 to 10 shops were damaged by the van and at least 20 lakhs of damages were caused. We want the appropriate punishment of the driver. Sheikh Md. Moniruzzaman said the covered van left the road and hit at least ten shops. Five people were killed Manirampur police station officer Md. Mizanur Rahman said that the child was allowed to be buried without a post-mortem examination at the request of the local residents. The remaining 4 people were sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. The case is being prepared, legal action will be taken against the culprits.
