Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM said that adequate security measures have been taken to organize the World Ijtema safely and smoothly. We are working together with the police, RAB and other law and order forces, the administration through proper coordination. He said this yesterday morning (January 11, 2023 A.D.) in Tongi, Gazipur after inspecting the overall security situation of the Biswa Ijtema ground and the residence of foreign guests while briefing the journalists. EGP said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had given 160 acres of land to organize Ijtema here. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of the present government has made the physical infrastructure development and the environment beautiful and safe here to increase the quality of service to the worshipers coming to Ijtema. The police chief said that special measures have been taken by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) and Dhaka District to facilitate the movement of pilgrims coming for Ijtema. Car parking is arranged according to the section. The IGP said that there is a watch tower and control room for the security of the Ijtema field. Police will perform duty in uniform and plain clothes. There will be security measures based on security. Besides, RAB helicopters will be engaged in security patrolling. He said that the Immigration Department and the Traffic Department have taken special measures to facilitate the foreign nationals coming to Ijtema. The IGP requested the worshipers coming to the Ijtema to call the control room or the National Emergency Service 999 for necessary assistance. Later, in response to a question from the journalists, the IGP said that the Hon’ble Home Minister had a meeting with the teachers of both sides of Tabligh. We also had a meeting with them. Both sides have promised us that they will hold Ijtema in a cordial atmosphere. In response to another question from journalists, the IGP said that policing is a challenging profession.
