Md. Asaduzzaman of Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram said, “I have lost the age of government service while working in National Service. I thought the National Service would be made permanent as the government had promised to provide jobs from home to home. But when the two years were over, I became unemployed again. In this situation, I have been living an inhumane life with my family for a long time. I want National Service to be made permanent.
In Kurigram district from 2010 to 2014, the National Service Program provided employment to about 38,000 unemployed youth. Later, when the government stopped the National Service program, these workers became unemployed.
