Barisal-2 Constituency former Member of Parliament of Awami League Alhaj Md. Monirul Islam Moni had a courtesy meeting and exchange of views with the newly appointed Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Banaripara and principal and teachers of Banaripara Degree College. He had a courtesy meeting with Banaripara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fatima Azreen Tanbi at his office on Thursday, January 5 at 11 am. During this time, he exchanged views with him on various development activities of the government across the country including Banaripara. Former Member of Parliament Monirul Islam Moni presented the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fatima Azrin Tanbi with a greeting crest with pictures of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a memorial book written by historian Siraj Uddin Ahmed about his father late Professor Rafiqul Islam’s illustrious career and political life. Later he had a courtesy meeting and exchange of views with the principal and teachers of the Banaripara Degree College he established. During this time he talked about playing a role in the overall development of the college including nationalization. College principal Afroza Begum chaired the exchange meeting held in the teacher’s auditorium, former MP Moni’s wife Razia Islam, vice-principal Mofazzel Hossain Khan, college governing body member and Banaripara Press Club president Rahad Sumon, professor Kabir Hossain, Kamrul Hasan, Emam Hossain, Meyazzem Hossain and Golam Sarwar. Zahid Hossain Farooq, member of the governing body, spoke. Sramik League leader Habibur Rahman, lecturer Mizanur Rahman and others were present at the time. Former Member of Parliament Monirul Islam presented a memorial book written by historian Siraj Uddin Ahmed on the illustrious career and political life of his father late Professor Rafiqul Islam to the principal and teachers of Moni College.
