3 detained in connection with the attack on the journalist after the human chain program.

Gurdaspur Thana police arrested 4 people including 3 persons and 1 accused in another case in connection with the attack on Gurdaspur Upazila Correspondent of Samakal newspaper Nazmul Hasan Nahid (28) after a separate human chaining program organized by all the journalists working in Gurdaspur and Lalpur upazila of Natore. Nahar Molla (20), Jewel Rana (28), and Suman (30) were arrested in connection with the attack on the journalist. Confirming the matter, Gurdaspur police station OC Abdul Matin said, Nazmul filed a statement at the police station on Friday night (January 6-23) regarding the attack on journalist Nazmul Hasan.

In view of the statement, the case was registered that night. Nannu Molla (45), Nahar Molla (20), Jewel Rana (30) and Guman and 8-10 others have been accused in the statement.

Then on Sunday (January 8-23) early night, they were arrested from a pond in Mannan Nagar area of Pashvarti Thana Tarasha. He also said that 3 people arrested in connection with the attack and one accused in another case, a total of 4 people have been sent to Nato Jail through the court. Efforts are underway to arrest the rest.

It should be noted that last Wednesday (January 4th-23rd) afternoon, on the way back after gathering news, Nannu Molla, an illegal pond digger and his brother Nahar Molla, attacked journalist Nazmul with some terrorist forces. In this, Nazmul’s chest bone was broken. The injured Nazmul was rescued first by Gurdaspur Upazila. At the health complex and later admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Later, all the journalists working in Gurdaspur and Lalpur upazilas organized separate human chain programs to demand the quick arrest of the culprits in such an attack on journalist Nazmul.
