Khulna Abdus Salam Murshedi, Member of Parliament of Khulna-4 Constituency, said that there is no alternative to education to build a society free from terrorism and drugs. The present government is working unitedly to create an educated nation. Educated nations are more advanced than any country in the world. He said, BNP has now become a complaint party. They are now making complaint after complaint to spoil the reputation of the country to foreigners. BNP has turned into a destructive politics by disuniting the people. He urged BNP to refrain from this politics. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the academic building of the school organized by Naihati Madhyamik Balika Vidyalaya in Rupsa on Sunday (March 5) morning. Mr. Bangladesh Abul Kalam Azad, president of the school’s managing committee, presided over the program in the school premises. In the afternoon, the president of the water management committee is cutting the soil of the canal again. In the evening, the local chairman came and ordered the closure. Again, for several months, the owners of the brick kilns have been cutting large ditches and taking the soil from the place of Paubo. No one is going there. In fact, who is the controller of these areas of the Khulna Water Development Board? There are many questions swirling in the Khulna area about any Paubo official, local public representative, water management committee president, land grabbers or influential brick kiln owners. Panchanan Adhikari of Bhandapara Union was filling up the water development site when Deputy Assistant Engineer of Khulna Water Development Board Hasem Ali came and closed it. Panchanan and his brothers came with a guarantee that Paubo would not go to the office and do any work. Later, when the work started again, assistant surveyor Salim measured the land in the presence of sub-assistant engineer Hashem Ali and president of the water management committee Enamul Haque and placed cement pillars. Later, it is heard that the place was again given to a local representative with Panchanan. He planted banana trees and other trees. The Water Development Board has not taken any action in this regard. Water supply has been cut off due to silt on the inner side of the gate at Kanaidanga a bend in Tyabunia. To remove the silt, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Water Development Board Tariqul Islam and President of Water Management Committee Enamul Haque and Ekramul Islam appeared in person and gave instructions to remove the silt on Saturday morning. At around 12 noon that day, UP members Subir Mandal and Malay Babu went to the canal. Ask to stop cutting. They said that Chairman Gopal Chandra De has forbidden to cut the canal. In the afternoon, Enamul Haque and Ikramul Islam, president of the water management committee, went to the spot and gave permission to dig the canal again. That evening, local UP Chairman Gopal Chandra Dey himself went to the spot and stopped the digging of the canal again. In this regard, Enamul Haque and Ikramul, presidents of the water management committee, said that there is a need to dig a canal because the gate is closed due to accumulation of silt. Due to which all the officials of the Paubo were informed and in the presence of SO Tarikul the excavation work was started inside the Kanaidanga gate last Saturday. However, Gopal Chandra Dey said that the UP members were sent after receiving information that canal soil was being cut and sold to kilns. They came and said that soil was being cut in the presence of SO Saheb. When SD Mizan was informed about the matter later, he said that he did not know anything. Later, when the Upazila Nirbahi Officer was informed about the matter, he ordered to stop it. That’s why in the evening I go and stop mowing the soil myself. Meanwhile, SKS Brick Kiln owned by Telikhali Ziaul Hasan Tito is cutting the river bed and taking soil to the brick kiln. Despite cutting a large and deep ditch, the upazila administration, local public representatives or pueblo authorities have no headache. In this regard, the local chairman said, I have heard that it is a place owned by them. However, he claimed that it was not right to make such a deep ditch on the side of the road. He said that the officials of the Water Development Board are indifferent. They don’t do any work. Mizanur Rahman, sub-divisional engineer of Water Development Board, said that work has been stopped after receiving information about soil cutting in Kanaidanga without permission. Further instructions will be given on the spot. He said that he did not know anything about dighi digging in SKS Bhata. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Asif Rahman said that all gates have been filled with silt inside and outside. However, necessary action will be taken on the spot.
