The 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of independence, the greatest Bengali of a thousand years and his family, was celebrated with due respect and honor in Rampal of Bagerhat.

On Thursday (August 31) at 11:30 am, a discussion meeting and doa mahfil was held at Upazila Parishad Auditorium organized by Rampal Upazila Tanti League.

Under the chairmanship of Upazila Tanti League President Md. Nazmul Hasan Sohag and moderated by General Secretary Bibash Halder, Bagerhat District Awami League Vice President Molla A. Rauf, Upazila Awami League Vice President Bir Muktijodha Sheikh Mozaffar Hossain, Rampal Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Upazila Awami League spoke at the meeting. Parishad Chairman Sheikh Moazzem Hossain, Bagerhat District Tanti League President Alhaj Talukdar Abdul Baki, Bagerhat District Women Awami League Joint General Secretary Talukdar Rina Sultana, Zilla Parishad Member and Upazila Jubo League General Secretary Sheikh Monir Ahmed Prince, Upazila Chhatra League President Md. Hafizur Rahman.

Upazila Awami League Treasurer Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Ali, Rampal Sadar Union Awami League President Md Arafat Hossain Kochi, General Secretary Sheikh Jalal Uddin Dulal, Bhojpatia Union Awami League President Alhaj Sheikh Nurul Amin, Dhaka Rampal Youth Council President Sheikh Manjur Hasan were present. Upazila Tanti League and various union leaders including Pele were present.

At the end of the discussion meeting on August 15, 1975, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib were prayed for the souls of all the martyrs who were killed by the merciless bullet of the assassin on the black night. At the same time, special prayers and prayers were offered for the good health and long life of the Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. After the prayer ceremony, good quality food was distributed to all present.
