Khulna After almost 20 years, the conference of Khulna Metropolitan and District Jubo League is going to be held on January 24. The conference of the two units will be held on the same stage at Shivbari junction in the city on Tuesday. Almost all preparations for the conference have already been completed. There is great enthusiasm among the leaders and workers around the conference. Several leaders have started running to get the post of president and general secretary. After a long time, the entire city was covered with billboards, festoons, lighting and posters due to the Jubo League conference in Khulna. The leaders and workers of the party are hopeful that about one lakh people will gather in the conference. It is known from talking to the leaders and workers of Jubo League that Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Chairman of Jubo League will inaugurate the conference at 10 am on Tuesday. Sheikh Helal Uddin, Member of Parliament for Bagerhat-1 (Fakirhat, Mollahat and Chitalmari) constituencies will attend the conference as the chief guest. Jubo League general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan will be the main speaker. After the opening ceremony, the council will be held at the United Club in the second phase at 3 pm. District Jubo League president. Kamruzzaman said, new enthusiasm is working among leaders and workers around the conference. All preparations have already been made to make the conference a success. 300 councilors and 600 delegates from the district will attend the conference. Metropolitan Jubo League convener Sofikur Rahman said that there will be around 2,000 representatives and 360 councilors from the metropolis at the conference. Apart from this, about one lakh people will gather. The banners and festoons that have been installed in the city will be removed immediately after the conference on the initiative of Jubo League. The last conference of Khulna Metropolitan and District Jubo League was held on May 6, 2003. In that conference, Anisur Rahman (Poplu) became the president of the metropolis and Ali Akbar (Tipu) became the general secretary. On the other hand, District Jubo League President Md. Kamruzzaman and became general secretary. Aktaruzzaman. Kamruzzaman currently holds the post of joint secretary of the district Awami League. And Aktaruzzaman is there as a member. He is now Member of Parliament for Khulna-6 (Paikgacha-Koira) Constituency. He was elected as the organizing secretary in the previous committee of the district Awami League. After that conference, convening committee of metropolitan Jubo League was announced in 2008 and 2019, but no district Jubo League committee was formed for 20 years. Talking to the leaders and workers, it is known that there was frustration among the leaders and workers and aspirants as there was no committee for a long time. When the day of the conference was announced last year on January 22 last year, the leaders and activists were shaken. Many sent resumes to the Central Committee for the post of President and General Secretary. But the conference was postponed due to the Corona situation. The leaders and activists are excited about the news of the new conference. In the conference, 6 people submitted resumes for the post of district president and 11 people for the post of general secretary. And one person has submitted resume for the post of president and general secretary in the metropolis.
