A mourning ceremony was held in the presence of thousands of people in Jessore’s Manirampur. District Secchasebak League senior vice-president Mikail Hossain spoke as the chief guest, General Secretary of Manirampur Upazila Awami League Farooq Hossain, Chairman of Manirampur Upazila Parishad Najma Khanom spoke as special guest, Jessore District Farmers League Vice-President, Central Alhaj SM Yaqub Ali, a member of Awami League’s sub-committee on religious affairs, and a candidate for Jessore (05) member of parliament.
During the speech, the speakers said.

Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not among us. But Awami League leaders and workers must work unitedly to implement his ideals and dreams. Sheikh Hasina is playing a leading role in realizing Bangabandhu’s dreams. As a member of the Bangabandhu family, the conspiracy to kill Sheikh Hasina is still being carried out by a group. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated that there is no alternative to the government to prevent conspiracies like the grenade attack on August 21 and to build the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream, and called for the election of the nominated candidate of Boata again in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Speakers said these things at a mourning meeting and prayer ceremony on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 48th martyrdom anniversary at the initiative of Awami League in front of the party office in Manirampur on Tuesday (August 29) afternoon.
In the beginning, the leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliated organizations from various unions of the upazila took part in the mourning meeting. In the presence of leaders and activists, the meeting place was filled to the brim and at one stage the funeral turned into a sea of people. The presence of leaders and activists overshadowed the highways of the city. Many of the eyewitnesses, including the venue, said that the biggest gathering of people has taken place in this mourning meeting.

Mikail Hossain, Vice-President of District Sechsevak League, presided over the discussion meeting held. Lecturer Faruk Hossain, general secretary of Upazila Awami League, spoke as the chief guest on the occasion.

District Awami League member and Manirampur Upazila Parishad Chairman Najma Khanam, Awami League Central Religious Affairs Sub-Committee member and District Farmers League Vice President SM Yakub Ali were special guests on the occasion.

At the end of the mourning meeting, prayers were offered for the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyrs of his family.
