In memory of the late, brave freedom fighter Alhaj principal Matiur Rahman, the collective cultural alliance, Mymensingh, completed the mourning and doa mahfil.

Senior politician, struggling public leader, honorable member of the advisory council of Bangladesh Awami League, former minister of religion, former member of national parliament Mymensingh Sadar-4, former chairman of defunct municipality, former president and general secretary of district Awami League, a banyan tree of Awami politics of Mymensingh, late heroic freedom fighter Alhaj In memory of the principal Matiur Rahman, the organization of the mourning and doa mahfil organized by the Combined Cultural Alliance Mymensingh was completed.

On 1st, September 2023, Friday (after 6.30 pm Maghrib), this condolence and doa mahfil was organized in the presence of about 100 people in Mukul Niketan High School teachers auditorium of the city. People from various professions including political, social, cultural, teachers, journalists, late workers and well-wishers of Mymensingh participated in it.

The event was presided over by the President of the Combined Cultural Alliance of Mymensingh – elder brother of the deceased, brave freedom fighter, journalist Zia Uddin Ahmed. Despite not being able to attend the event due to sudden physical and mental illness due to sudden physical and mental illness, Mohit Ur Rahman, General Secretary of Mymensingh Metropolitan Awami League, the privileged son of late Alhaj Principal, Mohit Ur Rahman, in memory of his late father through mobile phone during the program. He expressed his gratitude to all present and prayed for the repose of his late father’s soul.

During the mourning period, a short memorial service was given by ex-Chaeneta, former cultural affairs secretary of Mymensingh district Awami League and general secretary of Sammilit Sansikkar Jot Mymensingh – Mostafizur Basar Bhasani, organizing secretary of Sammilit Sansikkar Jot Mymensingh – Md. Wahab Mahmud Ramzan, heroic freedom fighter Kazi Alamgir, Enamul. Haque Mandal, Md. Ataur Rahman, Nadiruzzaman Nadeem, Md. Zakir Hossain Jewel, Md. Rajan, Ahmed Shahabuddin, Md. Chhayakul Islam Chaiful, M. A. Sohan Rukon, Md. Aminur Islam Rabbi, Marzia Sultana Neelima, and others.

The program was conducted by – writer, poet, literary, journalist, cultural personality, and joint general secretary of Mymensingh Cultural Alliance – Swadhin Chowdhury.

During the second and final part of the program, recitation from the Holy Quran and prayer was led by the former headmaster of Gohailkandi School, late beloved Snehbhajan-Khandkar Sultan Ahmed. At this time, all those present joined in praying for the salvation of the soul of the deceased and prayed to the great creator to grant the deceased the highest place in heaven and pray for all his bereaved family.
