Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the Sheikh Kamal Youth Games in Kurigram.

Like the rest of the country, the Sheikh Kamal II Bangladesh Under-17 Youth Games has started at the Kurigram District Stadium.  Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Arif inaugurated the game on Monday afternoon.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md.  Minhajul Islam, Sadar UNO.  Rasedul Hasan, Municipal Mayor Kajiul Islam, Hero Freedom Fighter Sirajul Islam Tuku, District Sports Officer Akram Hossain, General Secretary of District Sports Association Syed Hasan Loban, Advocate Ahsan Habib Nilu, Sports Personality Redwanul Haque Dulal and others.  Kurigram District Sports Organization organized the Youth Games under the management of Bangladesh Olympic Association.

 Upazila-level budding young women are participating in 6 sports including football, volleyball, athletics, swimming, chess, and badminton in youth games.  On the first day, football and volleyball competitions were held from 9 upazilas.  Kurigram youth team defeated Ulipur youth team 3-0 in football.  On the other hand, in volleyball, Ulipur youth team defeated Kurigram youth team by 2-0 sets.  52 youth athletes from 9 upazilas of Kurigram district will participate in the 6-day long competition.
