A’League candidate Mahfuzar has won the by-election of Mughalbasa union of Kurigram.                       Saifur Rahman Shamim, Kurigram :  Awami League candidate Md Mahfuzar Rahman Milon won the by-election for the chairmanship of Mogulbasa Union Parishad in Kurigram Sadar. .  He is the late chairman Dr.  Enamul Haque.Son . Returning Officer and Sadar Upazila Election Officer Howladar Mohammad Kamrul Hasan confirmed the result at 7:30 pm on Thursday.  Earlier, on Thursday (December 29) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, voting was done in the Union in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

 Awami League in the boat symbol.  Mahfuzar Rahman Milon got 5 thousand 917 votes.  His closest rival independent candidate.  Nurjamal Bablu received 3,635 votes in the pineapple symbol. According to the District Election Office sources, votes were taken in EVMs in a total of 10 centers in Mughalbasa Union.  The total number of voters in this union is 18 thousand 650.  A total of five candidates including Awami League, Islami Andolan Bangladesh and three independent candidates contested for the post of chairman.  In this by-election, the Islamic movement from Bangladesh in the symbol of Hatpakha.  Rokon Mandal and as an independent candidate in Chashma Pratike Md.  Azgar Ali, horse symbol.  Yakub Ali contested.

 On the other hand, by-elections were held for general membership in Ward No. 2 of Tilai Union of Bhurungamari Upazila.  Upazila Election Officer Md.
