Jatiya Party does not want to be someone’s ladder to power.

Md. Shamim Hossain –

Khulna General Secretary of Jatiya Party Mujibul Haque Chunnu said, “People all over the country are unhappy with BNP and Awami League. People do not want both parties from their hearts. In the future, the National Party wants to hold elections alone. Jatiya Party will field candidates for 300 seats in the next election. Jatiya Party no longer wants to be someone’s ladder to power. He said these things at the bi-annual conference of Khulna district Jatiya Party on Friday (March 3) morning. The conference was held at Dakbungalow intersection in the city. Zapa General Secretary said, “We have helped Awami League in the last 4 elections. We thought that Awami League was a party in favor of the liberation war, Bangabandhu’s party. If they support Awami League instead of BNP, they will establish good governance, stop corruption, provide welfare to people and not loot. But we are very disappointed. Wanting to change the election system, he further said that the current election system is wrong. We want proportional elections, where there are no candidates. There will be marks. There will be vote casting in Marka. The party that gets the percentage of votes, the percentage of MPs will be from that party. In Nepal, 50 percent of the elections are held at this proportional rate. Japa General Secretary also said, ‘If Nepal can do it, why can’t we? But the two big parties don’t want it. They want to be elected alone. When we come to power we will introduce provincial government system. We will decentralize the Dhaka-centric administration. I will introduce action oriented education system. The conference was inaugurated by Sahidur Rahman Tepa, a member of Japa Presidium and the responsible leader of Khulna Division. Japa presidium member Sunil Shubo Roy was the main speaker. Special guests were former minister and Japa presidium member Syed Didar Bakht, Mostafa Al Mahmud, chairman’s adviser and member of parliament Nurul Islam Talukder, adviser Nazneen Sultana, Zahirul Haque Zahir, vice chairman Shariful Islam Saru. District Japa President Shafiqul Islam Madhu presided. The program was conducted by the General Secretary of District Japa M. Hadiuzzaaman. In the conference, the current president Shafiqul Islam Madhu and general secretary M Hadiuzzaman were re-elected.
