Goainghat Bazar is the busiest market of the upazila, centered around Goainghat Upazila Parishad, Upazila Administration and Goainghat University College. People from 12 unions of the upazila throng this market every day for government and private work. But with little rain, the roads of the small alleys of the market are in bad condition. People have to walk in tears. Pedestrians coming to the market have been demanding for a long time to build these lanes a little higher and sustainable. There is a huge pond next to the market. Which is known as Sabuj Dighi. People living in the upazila sadar bathe in this lake. In the morning or in the afternoon, people from different parts of the upazila pass the time by strolling along the banks of Sabuj Dighi. But the banks of Sabujdighi are polluted by garbage plastic pollution and unplanned stops of auto vehicles have made it difficult for people to move and enjoy comfortably. Pedestrians and upazila dignitaries have requested the authorities to preserve Goainghat green lake shores and build a beautiful walkway in keeping with the times.

Zainul Islam, General Secretary of Goainghat Bazar Traders Association, said that the poor condition of the Goainghat Sabuj Dighi is seen only because of the desire to fill their own pockets. He said, there is no solution despite the presence of conscious citizens and local leaders.

According to a reliable source, Goainghat market business leaders will hold a meeting in this regard at around 3:00 pm today at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office.
