Wheel chairs formally distribution among physical disabled persons on the eve of international Mother Language Day (February 21) in front of Kurigram Sadar Dakbanglow at noon on Monday initiated and funded by Zila Parishad, Kurigram. A function was held in this connection adjacent four storied Dakbanglow where chairman of Zila Parishad, president of district unit of AL and former Member of Parliament Alhaj Mohammad Jafar Ali was present as the chief guest while Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md. Faridul Islam was in the chair. Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr. Monjur-e-Morshed, former Civil Surgeon Dr. Aminul Islam, Zila Parishad member Minhajul Islam Ayub, Sheuly Begum Spoke among other. Assistant Engineer Md. Mizanur Rahman along with officers and staff of Zila Parishad were also present in the function. The whole function was conducted by UDA Md. Anowarul Kabir. On the other hand, two auto Generator machines funded by Zila Parishad handed over to the civil surgeon Dr. Monjur-e-Morshed in the function for Chilmari and Rajarhat upazila health complex.Civil Surgeon thanked the Zila Parishad authority as it will very helpful for the patients who will admit in the health complex.
The speakers narrated that it is very good activities that have been completed in the great Day. In addition, sewing training, computer training, poultry training and agriculture training perform by Kurigram Zila Parishad. Many unemployed youths of both men and women became self-reliant receiving training.

The police have arrested the robber who robbed a girl in the afternoon in Kurigram and recovered 1 lakh rupees. Additional Superintendent of Police of Kurigram District Police Ruhul Amin gave this information on Wednesday (February 22) morning. Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, the incident took place on the way to the city in a rickshaw from Dharla Bridge. When the arrested accused Imdadul Islam Emon was handed over to the Kurigram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday morning, the learned judge ordered him to be sent to jail.
Kurigram Sadar police station officer Inchurch Khan Md Shahriar said that some robbers robbed a young woman named Moumita Akhter Sathi of 1 lakh rupees on the way to the city from Dharla bridge to rickshaw yoga on the way to the city. Later, the Kurigram Sadar police station received information about the matter and immediately conducted an operation, the mastermind of the robbery, Imdadul Islam Emon, from the old railway station area of Kurigram Sadar, was arrested on Tuesday night. A case has been filed in Kurigram Sadar Police Station.

In Nageshwari, miscreants cut down government trees in the afternoon.

Miscreants cut down government trees in Kurigram’s Nageshwari. Local miscreants cut down 12/13 Eucalyptus trees planted by the association on the river bed in Burir Rham area of Kuti village in Newashi union of upazila.
Yunus Ali, a member of the association, claimed the tree and said, “We have passed the association from the upazila. The government gave us saplings, we planted government trees, but without informing us, the trees were cut and taken away by the same village’s Koichar Ali, Aktaruzzaman, Suruj Jamal, Mofizul Islam.
When the accused Aktaruzzaman was contacted in this regard, he said, we managed the office and cut the trees and sold the rest of the trees to Amjad, the tree dealer of Newashi Rabitary. Amjad took the tree without paying for it. When Amzad, the tree trader, was contacted and asked about this, he angrily said, “The problem is not mine, I am not the one who cut the trees, they are the ones who cut the trees.”
