Two drug dealers arrested in special operation by Madhyanagar Police Station in Sunamganj

In a special operation by the Madhyanagar Police Station on 06 January 2025 at 13:05 pm, two drug dealers were arrested along with narcotics and a platinum motorcycle from in front of the Machimpur Sarbjanin Kali Mandir in Madhyanagar Union. The rest of the suspects are on the run. 1. Md. Robin (24), father: Bakul Mia, village Bahadurpur, Barhatta, Netrokona (current address: Gachtala, Dharmapasha, Sunamganj). 2. Md. Babu (20), father: Md. Malek, village: Bekhaijura, Dharmapasha, Sunamganj. The total value of the narcotics and motorcycles recovered is estimated to be 85,200 taka. The absconding accused are 1. Bipul Mia (25), 2. Taifique Mia (38),
3. Shafiq Mia (55), all father: Shafiq Mia, Sang: Dugani, Chamardani Union, Madhyanagar, Sunamganj.
A case (No. 05, Date: 06/01/2025) under Section 24(a)/38/41 of Schedule 36(1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 has been registered at Madhyanagar Police Station in this incident. The process of sending the arrested accused to the learned court is underway. The investigation of the case has been handed over to SI Md. Yushub Ali.
The officer-in-charge of Madhyanagar Police Station said that the police’s campaign against drugs will continue and efforts have been stepped up to arrest the absconding accused.
