Though Khodeja Begum (45) was under treatment in the hospital after being tortured in Bagatipara of Natore, the Bagatipara Model Police Station did not register the case even after 3 days of filing the complaint. He is crying at the upazila health complex due to serious injuries on his head, lips and right hand in the attack of the terrorist. Ashraful Alam, the victim’s husband, filed a complaint at the police station on December 8 afternoon. The victim’s family members protested at the police station day after day but did not get any legal help. Meanwhile, Assistant Surgeon Dr. Upazila Health Complex. Rezaul Karim said that his treatment is going on. As the head injury was serious, I suggested a CT scan. He suffered injuries to his lip and right hand. According to the complaint and local sources, the incident took place at Chakgoash (Galimpur Mosque intersection) area of the upazila around 8:30 am on December 8. The accused are deceased Azad Ali’s son Alam Hussain and his wife Aleya Bewa. Focuses on moving pre-laid bricks and mortar. On the morning of the incident, they hurriedly went up. At one stage of the altercation, the accused Alam went to his shop to beat Ashraful with a bamboo stick and he went inside the shop and defended himself. Later, Ashraful’s old and deaf father, Sohrab Hossain, got mad to beat him with that stick. When he tried to protect his father-in-law, the victim Khodeja got hit on the head and fell on the carpeted road. Locals and family members came and rescued him and took him to the hospital. Complainant Ashraful Alam expressed concern that the statement has not been recorded so far and said that the police is the refuge of people like us, but if the police ignores us like this, then where do we go? He also claimed that such behavior of the police will increase the crime trend. On the question that the case was not registered even after 3 days of filing the statement, Sirajul Islam, OC of Bagatipara Model Police Station, said that both parties have filed complaints. A solution is being sought through compromise. He claimed that the accused Alam is a mental patient. Is there any certificate of mental patient? When asked, he avoided the matter. Superintendent of Police of Natore, Saiful Islam, confirmed that he will take necessary action on the matter.
