Police have recovered the body of a man from a pond in Durgapur, Netrokona, two days after he went missing. His body was recovered from a pond in Purba Bakaljora village of Bakaljora union of the upazila on Tuesday (December 17) afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Ali Osman (52). He is the son of the late Manfar Ali of Dhanshira village in Chandigarh union of the same upazila.
According to local and police sources, Ali Osman had mental problems. On December 15, Ali Osman went to visit a relative’s house in Purba Bakaljora village. After that, he left there to perform ablution for Isha prayers and did not return home.
Family members searched everywhere but could not find him. Locals found Ali Osman’s body floating in a pond in Purba Bakaljora village on Tuesday afternoon. Police reached the spot and recovered the body after receiving information.
Durgapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bachchu Mia said Ali Osman had mental problems. Police went to the spot and recovered the body and handed over his body to his relatives as there were no complaints.
