DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, NDC, said that criminals must be strictly suppressed so that no one gets a break. They must perform their duties with utmost sincerity and professionalism to maintain law and order in the metropolis and prevent crime.
He made these remarks in his address to the DMP police officers present at the monthly crime review meeting for June 2025 at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Tuesday (July 15, 2025).
The DMP Commissioner said, “The main responsibility of the unit head is to manage his unit efficiently and effectively. Everyone must perform their professional duties with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm.”
He also said that regular patrols should be strengthened, surveillance in crime-prone areas should be increased, check posts should be operated, progress should be made in investigating cases, and the rate of case settlement should be increased. More efforts should be made in recovering stolen vehicles, recovering drugs, and serving warrants.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Farooq Ahmed said in the meeting that work needs to be planned in terms of warrants and case investigations. People-friendly policing needs to be ensured by collaborating with the local community.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam PPM said that senior officials should increase their supervision in investigating and resolving cases. He thanked everyone for performing their duties sincerely despite many challenges during Eid-ul-Azha.
In the meeting, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain presented information on the overall crime situation for the month of June 2025, including robbery, banditry, theft, burglary, murder, accidental death, road accidents, women and child abuse, rape, recovery of drugs and weapons, and various cases. During this, the DMP Commissioner gave various instructions to the police members present.
At the monthly crime meeting in June, the DMP Commissioner awarded officers of various ranks of the DMP in various categories in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order, controlling crime and providing public safety in Dhaka Metropolitan City.

Nazrul Islam, PPM; Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim; Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, along with Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, Officers-in-Charge of all DMP police stations and police officers of various ranks were present at the crime review meeting.
