Khulna A delightful display, parade and annual sports competition of students were held at the traditional Navy Anchorage School and College run by the Navy in Khulna. The president of the institution and Khulna Naval Area Commander Real Admiral M Anwar Hossain inaugurated the sports competition by blowing colorful balloons and festoons on Thursday (March 2) afternoon. Later he saluted the participants in the parade. A fascinating display was presented and a torch was lit on the occasion. Students were divided into 16 teams and participated in various competitions. A large number of guests enjoy the display and parade. Sports as well as entertainment programs entertain the spectators. Organizers feel that the annual sports event has added a new dimension to the glorious history of the school with a disciplined performance by the students.

A terrible fire broke out at Banishanta Bazar in Dakop, Khulna.

Khulna In a terrible fire at Banishanta Bazar in Dakop, Khulna, two shops were gutted and a loss of around 5 lakh rupees was achieved. The incident took place on Thursday around 4:00 pm in Banishanta market of the upazila. Around 4 o’clock in the night, local people saw the fire and tried to put it out, but by now local village police Farooq Patwari’s confectionery shop and neighboring Saheb Biswas’ salon shop were completely gutted. The residents of the market said that two shops were burnt down in this terrible fire and there was a loss of around 5 lakh rupees, but there was no casualty.
